Ethiopian Guenet Church Development and Welfare Organization (EGCDWO)

Ethiopian Guenet Church Development and Welfare organization (EGCDWO) is a local, faith based, non-profit and legally registered organization working since 1999 G.C across Ethiopia. EGCDWO reregistered as local Civil Society Organization under registration number 1417 by FDRE Agency for Civil Societies Organization according to proclamation number 1113/2011. EGCDWO exists to ensure that the holistic need of the poor, orphans and vulnerable and marginalized community members of Ethiopia are met through integrated development activities. EGCDWO operates in Addis Ababa, Oromia, Amhara and South Nations Nationalities and Peoples Regions.

As Faith Based Organization, EGCDWO values people and committed to the poor, vulnerable and marginalized people. EGCDWO believes that all human beings are created in the image of God and needs holistic ministry. It also believes that sustainable development comes through local participation, resource sharing, mobilization, partnership and networking.

EGCDWO is working in close collaboration with more than 10 esteemed partners namely Compassion International Ethiopia, Dorcas Aid International, Tearfund-UK, Tearfund Ireland, PMU Sweden, One Child Mater, World Christian Ministry, Children`s Hope Chest, Good Samaritan Organization, Nehemiah-Czech and CCRDA.
EGCDWO is governed by 7 unpaid active board members and has more than 156 committed staff and 500 volunteers.
EGCDWO has five programmatic focus areas namely Holistic Child Development, WASH, Health, and HIV/AIDS, Environmental Projection, Emergency Response and Community Empowerment. Currently, EGCDWO is implementing 41 projects across the country related to Children and Youth development, Women Economic Empowerment, Food Security and Agricultural Technology Promotion, Environmental Protection, Education, Elderly People Care and Support.

EGCDWO is also one of founding member of CUAHA-Ethiopia (Church United Against HIV and AIDS) and an active member of CCRDA (Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations).
Over the last 20 dedicated service years of the organization, the holistic need of many poor, orphans and highly vulnerable and marginalized community members have been addressed and their lives and livelihoods of have been transformed. None of these community development goals would have been realized without strong support of our partner organizations, staff, volunteers and our community members!
Finally, EGCDWO invites potential donors to partner with EGCDWO to address the holistic need of the poor, orphans and vulnerable and marginalized community members of Ethiopia.
